Our local town, Greve in Chianti, has a website www.comune.greve-in-chianti.fi.it with all the failings you would expect of a small local authority, but it does have some useful information in poor English. The commercial website www.greve-in-chianti.com is much better written, but is packed with tourist advertisements and it’s hard to sort the wheat from the chaff. The official Florence tourist website www.firenzeturismo.it/en is also well written, as are www.aboutflorence.com and www.aboutsiena.com.
The chianti classico website www.chianticlassico.com is good, not only for information on wineries and winemaking but for general information about the Chianti area.
There is a good regional monthly magazine for tourists, “toscana & chianti news”, whose website www.toscanaechiantinews.com is a useful source of up-to-date info on events, festivals, concerts and local news.
