The Olive Harvest at Ripertoli 2025.
The 2025 olive harvest at Ripertoli turned out better than we had dared to hope ! It took a long time, 5 separate visits to the Frantoio to make oil, and a huge amount of manual labour by old and young – but the quality as chemically analysed is excellent, the oil is delicious, and the total quantity ended up almost the same as 2024.

Morgan, Tim, Alastair, Mizé working on the Olive Harvest 2025
As usual Deborah and I started the harvest, with regular helpers joining us for the first week as we picked the easiest terraces nearest to the house. (Thank you David, Judith, Angela, Mike and Anna !) Productivity speeded up with the arrival of Deborah’s son Alastair, experienced harvesters Morgan and Tim, and newbies Mizé, Grace and George. We expected picking to be finished by the time my son Giles arrived with Emmylou, but in fact Campo Ballini (the furthest from the house, right down in the valley) was much more productive that we had expected and there were several rows left for them to finish off.

Ripertoli Olive Oil Labels 2025
Our friend Dave Hart has already delivered lots of 5 litre cans to our home in England, and we have a smart new label for 2025 featuring Alastair alongside me & Deborah. Maybe 2026 will be the year that both he & Giles will be in the photo. Anyway, we can now sell the wonderful 2025 oil for £22 per 50cl bottle or £190 per 5L can – let me know if you want some.  We also have a little 2024 left – it’s still excellent oil, thought not as vibrant and fresh as the 2025, but at £18 the 50cl bottle it’s excellent value.
